Lotus root is more decorative than flavorful. We’ve not flavored them or colored them – in their natural state, dehydrated lotus root is a mild yellow color with a very faint sweet flavor. They are crispy like a ruffled potato chip. Because of their mild flavor and taste, they are a great foundation for you to add to — soak them in a syrup, or coat them with a salt or sugar to a carry a flavor through.
Try dehydrated lotus root as a fine garnish for sake based cocktails, or Japanese Whisky.
